A Warm Welcome
Upon your arrival at Mohamed V International Airport, your private driver will be waiting to greet you. We will transfer you to your hotel to freshen up and settle in before we begin your 8-Day Grand Expedition.
The Cosmopolitan Capital
Casablanca is the economic heartbeat of Morocco and its most modern, multicultural city. We begin with a curated tour of the city’s unique landscape, where contemporary Moroccan life blends with historic French colonial architecture and Art Deco style.
The Grand Hassan II Mosque
The highlight of our first day is a visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque. As one of the largest mosques in the world, it is an architectural marvel perched directly over the Atlantic Ocean. You will have the chance to admire its 210-meter minaret—the second tallest on the planet—and the exquisite craftsmanship of its intricate zellij tilework, carved wood, and hand-sculpted plaster.
Evening at Leisure
After our city exploration, we return to your hotel. You’ll have the evening free to stroll along the Ain Diab Corniche or enjoy a meal at one of the city’s famous seaside restaurants as you prepare for the journey toward the Imperial cities tomorrow.
Rabat – The Imperial Capital
After breakfast, we depart for Rabat, Morocco’s elegant capital and one of its four historic Imperial Cities. We explore the city’s most prestigious landmarks, including the Hassan Tower, the Oudaya Kasbah (the city’s oldest medina with its iconic blue-and-white walls), and the ancient necropolis of Shalla (Chellah), a site where Roman ruins and medieval Islamic architecture merge.
Volubilis – A UNESCO Roman Treasure
We continue our journey inland to the archaeological site of Volubilis. Founded in the 3rd century BC, this UNESCO World Heritage site is the most significant Roman ruin in North Africa. You will wander through an expansive area of green fields to discover grand palaces decorated with marble columns and remarkably preserved mosaics that depict scenes from ancient mythology and daily Roman life.
The Imperial City of Meknes
Our next stop is Meknes, the 17th-century capital of Sultan Moulay Ismail. During our short tour of this Imperial City, you’ll witness the monumental Bab Mansour gate and the impressive city ramparts. We will take a break here to relax and enjoy a traditional lunch before the final leg of the day’s journey.
Arrival in Fes
As the sun begins to set, we arrive in Fes, the spiritual and cultural heart of the Kingdom. You will check into your Riad for the night, settling in for a deep dive into the medieval soul of the city tomorrow.
The Labyrinth of Fes el-Bali
We begin our walking tour in the cultural and religious heart of the Kingdom. You will be “engulfed in the mystical ambiance” of the world’s largest living medieval medina. Navigating its narrow, bending streets, you’ll encounter the architectural legacy of the Merenid and Alaouite dynasties, showcasing the pinnacle of Moorish style.
Architectural Jewels
We visit the magnificent Bou Inania Madrasa (mosque and school) and the ancient universities once dedicated to manuscript makers. You’ll also experience the elegance of Nejjarine Square, home to its famous beautifully designed fountain and the museum of wooden arts.
Living Traditions
The “climax of the story” takes place in the vibrant handicraft quarters. Here, you will see leather and pottery masters working with technologies inherited from their “grandfathers and great-grandfathers.” These traditional skills remain a closely guarded secret, transferred carefully from one generation to the next.
The Mellah & Coexistence
Our exploration continues into the Jewish Quarter (Mellah). This historic neighborhood serves as a symbol of cultural harmony, depicting the long-standing “affectionate attitude” and peaceful cohabitation between Morocco’s Muslim and Jewish communities.
Departure for the South
We leave the spiritual city of Fes around noontime to begin our journey toward the desert. The approximately seven-hour drive serves as a spectacular road trip through the changing heart of Morocco, where the landscape shifts from ancient city walls to alpine forests and eventually the open desert.
The Moroccan Switzerland
Our first major stop is Ifrane, a high-altitude town famous for its European-style architecture and alpine atmosphere. It features picturesque parks with lakes and charming chalets, serving as a ski resort that transforms into a snowy wonderland during the winter months.
The Cedar Forests
Near the town of Azrou, we witness the “phenomenal spectacle” of the ancient forests within the Ifrane National Park. This area is known for its indigenous Atlas Cedars and offers a “miraculous” session feeding the warm-hearted Barbary macaques who live among the trees.
The Ziz Valley Pass
After stopping for lunch in Midelt, we descend toward the Saharan plains via the city of Errachidia. We follow the stunning riverbed and gorge of the Ziz Valley, marking the dramatic transition where the greenery of the mountains fades into the golden desert landscape.
Saharan Camp Experience
We arrive in Merzouga to meet our camel caravan and trek deep into the towering Erg Chebbi dunes. Your stay includes a night in a luxury tent camp equipped with comfortable mattresses and private showers, featuring a traditional Moroccan dinner, bonfire, Berber drumming, and world-class stargazing.
A Saharan Dawn
We begin the day at the earliest call, watching the first sunbeams hit the “gorgeous, silent dunes” of Erg Chebbi. This spectacular sunrise is often one of the most penetrating and lasting memories of a Moroccan journey.
Rissani & The Fossil Factory
After breakfast, we return to the village of Merzouga and begin our journey toward the Dades Valley. Our first stop is Rissani, home to “The Fossil Factory,” where you can see the prehistoric treasures and ancient fossils unearthed from this unique desert region.
Tinghir & The Palm Oasis
Following a 3-hour drive, we pause for a panoramic photo near the lovely town of Tinghir. You’ll witness a breathtaking view of the town surrounded by its lush, expansive palm grove, creating a vibrant green contrast against the rugged landscape.
The Todra Gorge Experience
We continue to the famous Todra Gorge. Here, you will take a leisurely walk at the base of the massive 300-meter-high cliffs and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant situated deep within the heart of the canyon.
Overnight in the Dades Valley
Our journey continues through the charming landscapes of the Dades Valley. We spend the night in a local hotel, allowing you to rest and absorb the incredible rock formations and tranquility of the region.
Rose Valley & Skoura Oasis
We begin with a short drive through the Dades Gorges before heading toward Kalaat M’Gouna, the heart of the “Rose Valley.” Our journey continues through the lush Skoura Oasis, a green “palm jungle” crisscrossed by rivers and ancient irrigation canals.
Ouarzazate: Hollywood of Morocco
A short 30-minute drive leads us to Ouarzazate. Known as the “Hollywood of Morocco” due to its famous film studios, we visit the historic Kasbah Taourirt and the Atlas Film Studio where many historical blockbusters were filmed.
UNESCO Heritage at Ait Ben Haddou
We explore the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a famed filming location for Game of Thrones. This fortified golden-stone village is one of the best-preserved examples of earthen architecture in the world.
High Atlas Crossing
We ascend the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, reaching an altitude of 2,260 meters. This scenic road offers panoramic views of green valleys, traditional adobe villages, and ancient fortress ruins.
Arrival in Marrakech
After a 4-hour mountain drive with plenty of photo stops, we arrive in the Red City. You will check into your hotel for a restful evening on your own.
Imperial History
After breakfast, we dedicate the full day to the “Pearl of the South.” Accompanied by a local guide, you will explore the historical monuments of the three major dynasties that once ruled from this imperial capital.
Architectural Landmarks
We visit the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tombs, the intricate Bahia Palace, and the ruins of the El Badii Palace. We also take a serene stroll through the olive groves of the Menara Pavilion and the famous Majorelle Gardens.
The Vibrant Souks
In the afternoon, we dive into the most colorful market in Morocco. You will wander through the Medina’s souks, where artisans create traditional leatherwork, pottery, and textiles using skills passed down through generations.
Jemaa el-Fnaa Spectacle
We conclude at the legendary Jemaa el-Fnaa square. This open-air theater comes alive with snake charmers, storytellers, sorcerers, and spice merchants, offering a sensory experience that defines the soul of Marrakech.

Yes! We offer complimentary pickup from Mohammed V International Airport. Your private driver will be waiting in the arrivals hall with a sign with your name. We can also pick you up from any hotel or Riad within Casablanca.
This 8-day itinerary is flexible. Most travelers choose to end the tour in Marrakech to maximize their time there, but we can easily drive you back to Casablanca on the final day if your return flight departs from CMN airport.
Not at all. The 8-day tour is considered the “Standard Gold Pace” for Morocco. It allows you to see the Blue City (Chefchaouen), Fes, the Sahara, and Marrakech with enough time to enjoy each location without feeling like you are constantly in the vehicle.
Yes! One of the main reasons travelers choose the 8-day tour over shorter versions is the inclusion of Chefchaouen. You will have ample time to explore the famous blue-washed streets of the Rif Mountains before heading south to Fes.
This tour covers Morocco’s most famous sites:
Casablanca. The Hassan II Mosque (inside tour available).
Rabat. The Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Udayas.
Chefchaouen. The entire Blue Medina and the Spanish Mosque viewpoint.
Fes. The Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Tanneries, and the world’s oldest university.
Sahara. The dunes of Erg Chebbi and the nomadic settlements.
Marrakech. The Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque, and Jemaa El-Fna.
Yes. In the historic Medinas of Fes and Marrakech, we provide official, certified local guides. They are experts in the history and architecture of their cities and will help you navigate the winding alleys so you can focus on the sights.
We offer two ways to reach your camp in the Merzouga dunes: a traditional 1.5-hour camel trek at sunset, or a 4×4 vehicle transfer. Both options are included in the price—you can choose the one that best suits your comfort level.
Luxury Camp features private tents with “real” beds, high-end linens, and an en-suite bathroom (hot shower and flush toilet) inside your tent.
Standard Camp features private tents with comfortable bedding and shared bathroom facilities located nearby. Both camps include a traditional Berber dinner and live music around a campfire.
Morocco has diverse climates. We recommend:
Layers. It can be hot in the desert by day but very cold at night.
Modest Clothing. Shoulders and knees should be covered when visiting mosques and traditional areas.
Footwear. Comfortable walking shoes for the Medinas and sandals for the desert.
We include daily breakfast and dinners in the Desert and Dades Valley. Lunches and drinks are not included, giving you the freedom to choose from local cafes and hidden gems along the route.
We believe in a hassle-free experience. Unlike many other operators, Perfectly Morocco Tours includes all entrance fees to the historical sites and landmarks mentioned. Your admission is fully covered.
Absolutely. As this is a private tour, we can add special touches like a romantic private dinner in the dunes, room upgrades in high-end Riads, or a traditional Hammam spa session in Marrakech. Just let us know your special occasion!
