15-Day Tour From Marrakech - Frequently Asked Questions

Not in Morocco. Because the landscape changes so drastically—from the alpine Rif Mountains to the golden Sahara and the Atlantic coast—each day feels like a new country. The 15-day pace allows for multi-night stays, so you actually “travel” less and “experience” more.

Yes. We use luxury desert camps exclusively for this tour. Each tent is a private suite featuring “real” beds, en-suite flushing toilets, and hot showers. You won’t be “roughing it” in the Sahara.

Absolutely. Moroccan cuisine is a paradise for plant-based eaters. While lamb and chicken are famous, the foundation of our cooking is seasonal vegetables, lentils, chickpeas, and fresh salads. Just let us know in advance, and our chefs will ensure your meals are diverse and delicious.

The Medinas of Fes and Marrakech are car-free zones. You should expect to walk about 3 to 5 miles (5 to 8 km) on city tour days. We move at your pace, and there are plenty of opportunities to stop for tea or rest in shaded courtyards.

Morocco is moderate, but respectful. We recommend breathable, modest clothing (covering shoulders and knees). The North and the cities are more liberal, while the rural South and Sahara are traditional. Layers are key, as the desert gets chilly at night!

We recommend sticking to bottled or filtered water. We provide complimentary bottled water in our vehicles throughout the tour to keep you hydrated during the drives.

Yes. Although this specific itinerary starts and ends in Marrakech, our tours are 100% private. If you need to fly into Casablanca and fly out of Marrakech (or vice versa), we can adjust the loop to fit your flights perfectly.

Tipping is a significant part of Moroccan culture. As a general rule, we suggest small tips for cafes (5-10 DH), and for your driver and guides, we recommend a total of 10% to 15% of the tour value, distributed at your discretion based on service quality.

One of the best perks of a private tour is flexibility. If you fall in love with a particular café in Chefchaouen or want to spend more time at a fossil site in the desert, just tell your driver. As long as we reach our overnight destination, the day is yours to shape.

No. Strictly avoid this. Morocco has incredibly strict laws regarding drones. They will likely be confiscated at customs upon arrival, and you may face a heavy fine. It is best to leave it at home and rely on your camera or phone.

You don’t need to pack 15 different outfits. Most Riads in Fes and Marrakech offer professional laundry services for a small fee. We recommend planning a “laundry day” halfway through the trip (usually in Fes) so you can refresh your wardrobe for the second half.

In Morocco, most mosques are strictly for Muslims only. The major exception is the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, which offers guided tours for all. For others, you are welcome to admire the stunning doors and minarets from the outside.

Moroccan pharmacies are excellent and the pharmacists are highly trained, often acting as “mini-doctors” for minor ailments like stomach issues or cold symptoms. For anything more serious, your driver can quickly get you to a private clinic in the major cities, which are up to international standards.

Yes, very. However, you may receive unwanted attention (compliments or “catcalls”) in the busy markets. Having a private driver and local guide acts as a “social shield,” significantly reducing this. We recommend dressing modestly to feel more comfortable and blending in with the local culture.

Morocco is a Muslim country, but alcohol is available in licensed hotels, restaurants, and some Riads in larger cities. However, in rural areas and some desert camps, it can be hard to find. If you enjoy a nightly drink, we suggest buying your preferred bottle at a “Carrefour” supermarket in Casablanca or Marrakech before heading into the mountains.

The Tizi n’Tichka pass involves many hairpin turns. Our drivers are trained to drive smoothly, but if you are prone to motion sickness, we highly recommend bringing ginger chews or travel medication. Because the tour is private, you can ask to stop for “fresh air” at any moment.

Moroccans are generally private. Always ask permission before taking a photo of a person, especially in rural areas or the souks. Some may ask for a small tip in exchange for a photo, which is a common practice in tourist hubs like Jemaa el-Fnaa.
