A Warm Welcome
Your 5-Day Sahara Desert Tour from Casablanca begins the moment you land. Your private driver will greet you at Mohamed V International Airport, ready to whisk you away from the coast and toward the golden horizons of the east.
Across the Middle Atlas
This is one of our most ambitious and scenic drives, taking you through a “living painting” of Moroccan geography. We climb through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing the high-altitude town of Midelt, which sits beautifully between the wooded Atlas peaks and the open plains.
The Ziz Valley Transition
As the afternoon unfolds, the landscape shifts dramatically. We traverse the spectacular Ziz Gorges and the lush Ziz Valley, where thousands of date palms line the riverbed. Near Errachidia, you will feel the air change as the greenery fades into the vast, silent beauty of the pre-Saharan desert.
Arrival in Erfoud
We conclude the day in Erfoud, the “Gate of the Sahara” and Morocco’s capital of fossils. After such a grand journey, you will have ample time to check into your hotel, enjoy a traditional dinner, and restore your energy for the desert adventures awaiting you tomorrow.
A New Perspective
We depart Erfoud and head deeper into the Saharan landscape. As we approach Merzouga, the terrain shifts from rocky plains to the towering, golden walls of the Erg Chebbi dunes, offering a fresh and awe-inspiring perspective of the desert’s vast diversity.
Off-Road 4×4 Adventure
Upon reaching Merzouga, the journey moves to the next level. We board a private 4×4 for a thrilling excursion across the dunes and the “Black Desert” (Hamada). Along the way, we will meet Nomadic families in their traditional settlements, where you are welcomed to share a cup of tea and learn about their resilient way of life.
Majestic Camel Trek
As the afternoon sun begins to soften, you will trade your vehicle for a camel caravan. We trek across the swelling sands to reach our exclusive desert camp, timed perfectly to witness the dunes change colors under the setting sun.
Luxury Under the Stars
Your home for the night is a premium desert camp featuring “comfortable abodes” with private en-suite facilities. Enjoy a gourmet Moroccan dinner served under the vast reach of the heavenly bodies, followed by traditional Berber music around the campfire.
A Saharan Dawn
We begin the third leg of our odyssey by witnessing the spectacular sunrise over the dunes—a true highlight of any Moroccan journey. After a fresh breakfast, we depart the golden sands and begin our traverse toward the Dades Valley.
Fossils and Panoramas
Our route takes us through Rissani, where we visit a local fossil factory to see prehistoric treasures unearthed from the desert. We continue to Tinghir, stopping at a hilltop viewpoint to admire the breathtaking contrast between the arid mountains and the lush, sprawling palm oasis below.
The Todra Gorge Experience
We make an essential stop at the incredible Todra Gorge. Here, you can enjoy a scenic walk along the riverbed, dwarfed by the massive limestone cliffs that rise 300 meters on either side of the canyon.
Rest in the Dades Valley
We conclude the day in the heart of the Dades Valley. It is the perfect place to rest and take in the “awesome beauty” of the unique rock formations and ancient Kasbahs that define this ruggedly beautiful region.
Skoura Oasis & The Road of Thousand Kasbahs
We begin our drive toward Marrakech by passing through the charming Skoura Oasis. This lush “alluvial” paradise is home to thousands of date palms and historic mud-brick fortresses, offering a serene start to our day.
Ouarzazate & Kasbah Taourirt
We continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” Here, we visit the magnificent Kasbah Taourirt, an architectural marvel of the Glaoui dynasty, and catch a glimpse of the famous film studios that have hosted countless global blockbusters.
UNESCO Heritage at Ait Ben Haddou
Our journey leads to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will have time to explore the winding alleys of this ancient fortified village (ksar), which has served as a stunning backdrop for everything from Gladiator to Game of Thrones.
Crossing the High Atlas
We ascend the High Atlas Mountains via the legendary Tizi n’Tichka Pass. At an altitude of 2,260 meters, you will be treated to breathtaking views of jagged peaks, deep valleys, and the remnants of ancient mountain Kasbahs.
Arrival in the Red City
We arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon. After checking into your hotel, you will have a free time slot to begin exploring the vibrant energy of the city, perhaps visiting the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa square as it comes alive at dusk.
A Guided Historical Immersion
On the final day of your 5-Day Sahara Desert Tour from Casablanca, we dive deep into the radiant colors and rich history of Marrakech. Accompanied by a local expert, you will visit the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, the intricate Bahia Palace, and the vibrant Majorelle Gardens, uncovering the fascinating legends and architectural secrets of the “Red City.”
The Pulse of the Medina
Experience the thrilling energy of the Souks, where skilled craftsmen showcase generations of artistry. Wander through the maze of stalls filled with “spices that smell like heaven,” hand-woven textiles, and shimmering lanterns.
Jemaa el-Fnaa Spectacle
No visit is complete without entertaining the senses at Jemaa el-Fnaa square. You will be surrounded by a kaleidoscope of performers, musicians, and traditional storytellers that bring the heart of Marrakech to life.
A Grand Finale
Indulge every sense as you soak in the music and legendary flavors of the city. Whether you are catching a final sunset over the square or savoring a traditional Moroccan feast, this final day ensures your journey concludes with memories that will last a lifetime.
The most efficient way to see Morocco’s Northern Icons.
The Ultimate “Golden Triangle” Route
This itinerary connects the modern capital (Rabat), the blue mountain retreat (Chefchaouen), and the cultural capital (Fes) in one seamless loop, maximizing your time in the country.
Architectural Wonders
From the soaring Hassan II Mosque on the Atlantic edge to the intricate mosaics of Fes and the Roman pillars of Volubilis, you will witness the evolution of Moroccan design.
The Blue City Experience
Unlike shorter tours, we ensure you have ample time to soak in the “nostalgic presence” of Chefchaouen, allowing for sunset views and peaceful morning walks before the crowds arrive.
Strategic Arrival & Departure
Utilizing Casablanca as your hub makes for the most convenient international logistics, with door-to-door service from Mohamed V Airport or your city hotel.

We provide flexible pickup. If you arrive at Mohammed V International Airport (CMN), your driver will be waiting in the arrivals hall with a sign with your name. If you are already in the city, we will pick you up directly from your hotel or Riad.
It is a fast-paced but very rewarding itinerary! This 5-day tour is designed to hit the “greatest hits” of Morocco: the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, the cultural heart of Fes, and the golden dunes of the Sahara. If you prefer a slower pace, we recommend our 7 or 8-day Casablanca tours.
This specific itinerary is designed to end in Marrakech. However, because all our tours are private, we can easily customize the final day to drop you back in Casablanca or Fes depending on your flight schedule.
You will experience a diverse range of Moroccan highlights:
Casablanca. The magnificent Hassan II Mosque (one of the largest in the world).
Rabat. The Hassan Tower and the Oudaya Kasbah.
Fes. A guided tour of the world’s oldest living Medina.
The Sahara. A sunset camel trek and a night in a desert camp at Erg Chebbi.
UNESCO Sites. The ancient fortress of Ait Ben Haddou and the High Atlas Mountains.
Yes! In Fes, we provide a certified local city guide who will lead you through the labyrinth of the Medina, ensuring you see the famous tanneries, Madrasas, and hidden gems without getting lost.
We recommend a small “overnight bag.” Your large suitcases will remain safely in the locked 4×4. Be sure to bring:
A warm jacket (even in summer, the desert cools down at night).
Comfortable walking shoes or sandals for the sand.
A camera and a power bank (though our Luxury Camps have charging points).
Of course. If you prefer not to ride a camel, we provide a 4×4 transfer across the dunes to the camp at no extra cost. You will still get to enjoy the incredible sunset and the camp atmosphere.
Yes. Whether you choose our Standard or Luxury camp, you will have a private tent for your party. Our Luxury Camp option includes an en-suite bathroom with a hot shower and a flush toilet inside the tent.
We include daily breakfast and dinners in the Sahara and Dades Valley. Lunches and drinks are not included, allowing you the freedom to explore local Moroccan cafes and restaurants along the route.
We believe in a hassle-free experience. Unlike many other operators, Perfectly Morocco Tours includes all entrance fees to the historical sites and landmarks mentioned. Your admission is fully covered.
