08:30 AM – Departure from Fes
Your private driver will meet you at your Riad or Hotel to begin your northern adventure. We depart the city and head toward the Rif Mountains, passing through the beautiful agricultural landscapes of the north.
Arrival in the Blue Pearl
Upon arriving in Chefchaouen, the “Blue City” reveals itself—a striking sea of indigo and sky-blue buildings nestled between two mountain peaks.
The Heart of the Medina
We begin at Outa el Hammam square, the vibrant heart of the city. You’ll have time to explore the 15th-century Kasbah, with its red-walled fortress and lush gardens, offering a stark contrast to the surrounding blue.
Wandering the Azure Alleys
Lose yourself in the labyrinthine streets where every nook and cranny is adorned with intricate mosaics and vivid colorful murals. This is the perfect time for shopping for local woolen garments and handmade crafts unique to this region.
Ras el Ma Springs
We visit the cool mountain springs of Ras el Ma, where you can see the natural waterfalls and watch as locals gather at the traditional laundry points—a true glimpse into daily mountain life.
The Spanish Mosque Perspective
For a “fantastic perspective” of the entire city, we recommend the short walk to the Spanish Mosque on the hilltop. From here, you can watch the sky change colors over the blue-tinted buildings below.
Return to Fes
In the late afternoon, we bid farewell to the Rif Mountains and begin our return journey, arriving back at your Fes accommodation by early evening.

Total Duration: 11–12 Hours
Driving Time. Approximately 3.5 to 4 hours each way (7–8 hours total on the road). The route takes you through the beautiful but winding Rif Mountains, so travel time can vary slightly based on traffic and weather.
Time in Chefchaouen. We typically ensure you have 4 to 5 hours of free time to explore the “Blue City” at your own pace.
Depending on your specific itinerary, our tours include the most iconic landmarks in Morocco. You will explore:
The Imperial Cities. The ancient Medinas of Fes and Marrakech, the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, and the Roman ruins of Volubilis.
Natural Wonders. The towering dunes of Erg Chebbi in the Sahara, the dramatic Todra Gorges, and the lush Dades Valley.
Film & History. The UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou (the setting for Gladiator and Game of Thrones) and the Cinema Studios in Ouarzazate.
Hidden Gems. Small Berber villages, local cooperatives, and panoramic viewpoints in the Atlas Mountains.
The tour price covers your private transportation, fuel, and driver. Lunch and drinks are not included. Your driver can recommend excellent local restaurants where you can try “Goat Cheese Salad” or “Rif Tagine,” which are specialties of the region.
Certainly, our experienced guides shall guide round the tours of Meknes and Volubitis, and share with the tourists Chefchaouen’s way of life and culture.
Yes! If you don’t want to return to Fes, we can offer this as a one-way transfer. Your luggage will be safely stored in the vehicle while you explore, and we can drop you off directly at your Riad in Chefchaouen at the end of the day.
Yes, you certainly can! While we offer this as a popular day trip, many of our guests prefer to book an overnight stay in a local Riad, hotel, or hostel to enjoy the city at a more relaxed pace.
If you choose to stay overnight:
One-Way or Round-Trip. We can provide a one-way private transfer or a 2-day return service.
Sunrise & Sunset. Staying over allows you to experience the sunset from the Spanish Mosque and the peaceful blue streets early in the morning before the day-tourists arrive.
Luggage. Your driver will help you with your luggage and drop you as close to your chosen accommodation as possible.
Please note: While we provide the private transportation, guests typically book their own overnight accommodation in Chefchaouen to match their specific budget and style.
Generally, no. Most of our tour packages cover transportation, your driver/guide, accommodations, and specific activities like camel trekking. However, entrance fees to historical sites, museums, and gardens (such as the Bahia Palace in Marrakech or the Volubilis ruins) are not included.
How it works:
Pay per person. You will pay the entrance fee directly at the door of each attraction.
Cash is key. These sites usually only accept Moroccan Dirhams (MAD) in cash.
Affordability. Most major sites cost between $7 to $15 USD (70–150 MAD) per person.
Flexibility. Because these aren’t pre-paid, you have the freedom to skip a landmark if you’d rather spend more time in a café or the souks instead.
Chefchaouen is located in the Rif Mountains and is often cooler than Fes. Even in summer, it’s a good idea to bring a light jacket or scarf. Please dress respectfully (covering shoulders and knees) as it is a traditional town.
The Blue City Chefchaouen is unique for its picturesque blue-painted buildings and streets, which create a serene and visually stunning environment. This charming town offers a mix of cultural heritage, local crafts, and breathtaking mountain scenery.
On a Chefchaouen day trip from Fes, you can expect a scenic drive through the Rif Mountains, a guided tour of the blue-painted streets, visits to local markets, and an exploration of the town’s rich history and culture.
The journey takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours each way, depending on traffic and stops. While it is a long day, the route through the Rif Mountains is incredibly scenic. We make stops along the way for photos and coffee to ensure a comfortable ride.
To make the most of your day, we typically pick you up from your Riad or Hotel in Fes at 8:00 AM. You will arrive in Chefchaouen around noon, spend about 4–5 hours exploring, and return to Fes by 7:30 PM or 8:00 PM.
Chefchaouen is a hillside town, so there are many stairs and inclines. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. If you have mobility concerns, your driver can drop you off at the most accessible points.
During your visit, you shouldn’t miss:
The Medina. The famous blue-washed streets and photogenic doors.
Outa el-Hammam Square. The heart of the city, perfect for people-watching.
The Kasbah. A 15th-century fortress with a beautiful garden.
Ras El Ma. A refreshing mountain spring where locals gather.
The Spanish Mosque. A 15-minute hike uphill for the best panoramic view of the city.
